Got the Entrepreneurial Spirit?
If you're a fan of the hugely popular Diner Dash series, then you'll absolutely love this hot new simulation title that puts you in charge of a hair styling studio. In Sally's Salon, you take over control of Sally, an entrepreneur on the rise who wants to make tons of money washing, styling, and blow-drying hair. There's a lot more to giving clients the right look than just snipping away randomly with a pair of scissors!
Surely, the challenge will be great and you'll have many obstacles to overcome, but the rewards of one day styling for Hollywood superstars and literally swimming in a pool of cash will make it all worth. You may start out as a small time barber, but as word gets out about how great you can be, your salon will grow to massive proportions! Can you juggle all those responsibilities?
The Challenge of Juggling Customers
There are several steps to taking care of any given customer, and more tasks will become unlocked as you progress through this fantastic business simulation title. In the beginning, most customers will need to undergo a basic four-step process.
- Wash hair.
- Cut and style hair.
- Blow dry.
- Collect payment at the cash register.
Each of these steps consumes a certain amount of time and not every customer will require all four steps (the last one is necessary, of course). What's more, you'll be helping more than one person at a time, so it's very much a matter of juggling all of the customers' needs simultaneously. For the "cut and style" portion, you must also select the correct hairstyle for the customer.
Later on, you will be given the opportunity to color their hair, shape their eyebrows, and do all sorts of other fun things. People will discover how great a beautician and stylist you are, and then the sky is the limit for your burgeoning business.
Sizable Upgrades for the Up and Comer
After each working day, you'll have the opportunity to spend your earnings on upgrades for your salon. Don't worry, when you move on to a more upscale location, you get to take all of your upgrades with you, so it's not like your dumping money into a place that you'll be leaving behind anyways. Some of the key upgrades include a coffee table with magazines (helps with customers' patience), additional styling stations, a coffee maker, and speedier hair drying stations. You can also hire assistants to help you with some of the more mundane tasks like washing the hair of customers.
I personally found that these assistants, although quite expensive, were the most valuable upgrades available in this game, because it allows Sally to be more efficient in her work, focusing on tasks that assistants simply cannot do.
Wanna Make Some Money?
With whimsical color graphics in the same style as Diner Dash, a fantastic user interface that will keep Sally on her toes, and a great upgrade system that allows you to progressively grow your hair salon business, this title is one of the best business simulation games to come out in quite some time. Make some money and have a ball doing it!
