Admire the Seven Wonders!
7 Wonders is back with the simply named 7 Wonders II. This time around, you have seven new wonders to admire and build, starting with the mystery known as Stonehenge. Not only will you get to build these wonders piece by piece, but you'll also gain a hearty chunk of knowledge about each one. Take a trip around the world and enjoy satisfying match-3 game play in what can only be described as a stunning sequel.
Build, Build, Build
In each stage, you have to swap and match runes in order to crumble the tiles underneath. The tiles crumble into blocks, which fall to the ground below, only to be picked up and hauled off by one of your many workers. These blocks are going into the construction of the wonders. If you don't continuously drop stones for the workers to use, the workers will get angry and go on strike; or even worse, leave altogether. If this happens, you're in a heap of trouble, because you need their help!
Each stage also has a crucial cornerstone or capstone that your monument needs. When the stone appears, make matches beneath it until it drops out the bottom. You'll then see a group of workers work together to push it away.
Complete each level before time runs out or you'll lose a life. Any remaining time will be converted to bonus points at the end of the level.
Building is More Complex Than You Think
Each wonder has a corresponding rune. Matches with this rune will produce more resources to use for building. After you complete each stage, you'll be taken to the construction site, which will be divided into squares. On the right side of the screen, you'll be shown all of the blocks that you have. Simply drag a group of blocks into a square to complete that section of the construction.
Certain construction squares give you power-ups when filled, of which you can have one activated at time. These power-ups appear in the bottom left corner of each level and can be used by simply clicking on them.
Finally, each stage has a special square marked with a certain color. Make a match on that square using that color and you'll be rewarded with a section of map. Gather all of the sections to lead the way to a special monument.
A True Marvel
7 Wonders was an amazing match-3 game and set the bar almost unreachably high for the sequel. Not only did 7 Wonders II reach that bar but it exceeded it to become one of the best match-3 puzzlers available. Take it from me, a guy who has played an unhealthy amount of computer games: this is as good as it gets. 7 Wonders II gives you hours upon hours of solid game play with unique twists and power-ups. Building each wonder is a satisfying accomplishment and no easy feat. This game will last you a good long while and when it's over, it will still bring you back for more.
