The Joys of Fish
A fish tank is one of those things that I always thought would be neat to have, but I'm not passionate enough about them to dedicate the time or money to care for the fish. Luckily for me, there's Fishdom H20: Hidden Odyssey. The game is really fun and comes will all the joys of having fish, with none of the responsibility. You can even choose relaxed mode over timed mode if you're not looking for a challenge. If you don't handle stress well, this could be the perfect product for you!
Meet Jennifer
The main character of the story is Jennifer, who is on her last summer vacation before she graduates from Environmental Protection University. She's visiting her Grandpa Jack, a famous oceanographer. Upon hearing that the prestigious Barney's Aquarium won't hire Jennifer, Jack offers to give him a call. Jennifer likes to earn her own way, so she declines the offer and decides to build her own aquarium - one so impressive that Barney will just have to hire her!
Aquarium Building
The game kicks off with an optional tutorial. This is very nicely integrated into the story in the form of advice from Grandpa Jack. He explains everything you need to know to make your aquarium the very best it can be. He tells you that Barney will probably be judging off of the standard rules, so you have meters for fish, beauty, and comfort, all of which need to be maxed out if you hope to land your dream job.
To increase your fish meter, you'll want to populate your tank with all sorts of colorful life. The beauty meter can be raised with a variety of plants and decorations. The comfort meter relies on things like lighting, air pumps, and other devices that your fish will need to be comfortable.
Building up your tank and watching your fish happily swim around is a very rewarding and tranquil experience. This isn't a very demanding game, but I definitely mean that as a plus.
Making Money
When you start your venture, you only have enough in your pocket for a single, solitary fish. Being alone in a bland, empty tank probably isn't very fun, so you'll quickly want to stock up on other underwater denizens as well as some nice green foliage. However, you'll need money first!
When Grandpa Jack needs money, he goes on a dive in the ocean to collect all sorts of items from the ocean floor, which he then sells as souvenirs. You can do the same, which plays out like a hidden objects game. You'll have a list of items to find in a set amount of time. You don't need to find them all, but the more you do find, the more money you will earn.
You then use this money to improve your aquarium. It's quite the fun little cycle.
I Never Want To Surface
Fishdom H20: Hidden Odyssey is a beautiful little gem of a game. There's nothing especially difficult about the experience (save for maybe the hidden object stages) which is why it's such a breath of fresh air. Fast paced games are fun and all, but sometimes you just need a break. I can't think of any better way to do that then with this product.
