A Legendary Inventor and a Legendary Game
Great Secrets: Da Vinci allows you to read through the journal of the famous painter and inventor and go on wonderful, exciting adventures as the man himself! You'll solve fun, mind-bending puzzles as you explore and investigate various subjects. As you progress throughout the game, you'll get to read more and more of his journal entries and see his beautiful illustrations come to vivid, colorful life. If that isn't an incentive to keep playing, then I don't know what is!
An Inquisitive Mind
It's obvious from the start that Leonardo Da Vinci was a very inquisitive man. You'll start off reading about his uncle Flavio and the great stories that the man tells and soon enough Da Vinci begins to get wrapped up in what his uncle is saying and embarks on a quest for the famed Philosopher's Stone - an artifact with the power to turn anything into gold! Now you can see why he wanted it so bad! As you venture farther into the man's mind and notebooks, you'll learn more about this sacred relic.
A Remarkable Package
At first, I thought that this product was nothing more than a hidden objects game. I would have been fine with that, as the hidden objects stages are incredibly fun and addictive, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that this product has so much more to offer! And I'm not talking about just a few simple bonus stages - the game has a whole assortment of levels and it never even starts to get boring in the least!
Like I said, the first stage was a hidden objects stage. A list in the top left corner of the screen displays five items at once and more pop in as you find them. Above the list is a tip bar, which is just another way of saying "hint bar!" Once you use this, an object will be highlighted, which always makes for easy clicking. You have unlimited tips, but not unlimited time, and you have to wait for the tip bar to refill after each time that you use it.
After that stage was all said and done, I was brought back to the same location, except that this time I had to find ten different birds. It was still technically a finding game, but it was quite different from the previous level and didn't feel very repetitive.
The next level was cut in two and I had to spot ten differences between the two windows. These are probably my favorite types of puzzles and these ones were nothing short of fabulous.
That's not all! The next level had me playing a game of concentration. I was given about twelve cards and I had to match them all until they were gone.
A True Piece of Art
Great Secrets: Da Vinci takes several different puzzle formulas and includes them all in one very impressive package. The fun gameplay mixed with the interesting story and them makes for an invention that even Da Vinci himself would have been proud of!
