Guess Who's Back

The one, the only, Mystery P.I. is back with an all-new hidden object mystery in Los Angeles! As always, our hero has been called in at the eleventh hour to find the missing film and restore order in Hollywood. If you can pull this off within the 17 hour deadline, you'll net a cool $15 million.

Stepping back into the shoes of Mystery P.I. felt like seeing an old friend. I punched in my name, chose the fingerprint as my avatar, and with my trusty P.I. Assistant fired up, my investigation was under way.

Addictive Gameplay

Each level consists of a few ispy scenes for you to search through in hopes of finding new clues. The items you're looking for are listed on the left of the screen on your Assistant, which functions like a PDA. When you spot an item, click on it to recover it. Along with the list of items, each stage also hides a Film Reel and a Key that can unlock extra game modes. There is also a 'Secret Item' hidden in each scene but you'll have to figure out what it is by yourself!

No other game can suck me in like this series. I have a tendency to play games in small windows while something else on the internet steals my attention every now and then. That isn't the case here. I maximize this game immediately and within a few minutes I am transported to sunny LA and completely immersed.

I'm a perfectionist and this game is an enabler; there's so much room for improvement that I can go crazy! Finding an item earns you 5,000 points. That may be good enough for some, but not me. I need to get those speed bonuses. By finding two items in quick succession, you can score extra points; but it doesn't stop at two items! I try to find as many items as I can before I start clicking them, and keeping track of them all is surprisingly difficult but extremely rewarding.

Riddle Me This

One thing I absolutely love is that your list of items isn't just a list of names; some of them are riddles, or require a little extra thinking and in some cases I need to complete a task like 'Solve the Equation'. The extra mental stimulation is one of those unique features that makes this game so much fun.

I'm a big fan of added incentives in games. On top of having fun, I like to feel like I'm working towards something. You start your adventure as a Jr. Gumshoe and you'll earn higher ranks as you progress. The prospect of a promotion is just another reason why I can never put the game down.

And That's Not All!

Even without extra modes, this game would be well worth the purchase, making the Unlimited Seek & Find and Match 3 bonus modes icing on the cake. Finding all of the film reels and keys will unlock the extra modes.

An Open & Shut Case

Mystery PI LA proudly lives up to the standards set by its predecessors. If you're a fan of the earlier adventures, you'll love this one too. If you haven't tried out the series yet, this is a great place to start...you'll be hooked from the get go!
