For each stage, you may have the opportunity to explore more than a single location. The first stage, for instance, has you helping clairvoyant Christine Barker cleaning up her overly cluttered apartment. You may start out in one room, but you'll quickly discover that you can explore two other rooms at the same time, moving between the three as you see fit.
In fact, it is very possible that you'll need to find special tools and instruments in one room to unlock additional hidden objects in another room. Further still, the items listed in grey text will require some for of interaction with the scenery to be found. What you can do with some pliers and a screwdriver?
Collecting Extra Hints on the Fly
Whether you choose the timed mode or the relaxed mode, there is a possibility that you'll find the adventure to be a little too challenging. The highly detailed and intelligently designed stages can leave you scratching your head, desperate to find the final couple of items. Thankfully, there are hints to help you.
You are only equipped with a small handful in the beginning, but you can earn more. There are activities in between the stages, like pasting together a jigsaw puzzle or spotting the difference between two seemingly identical images, which can earn you additional hints for use in later stages. It is also notable that hints regenerate when you deplete your supply. After using your last hint, a new one will slowly be built up. This process takes about ten seconds.
