And the Adventure Continues!
Can't a lexicon-savvy invertebrate just take a break? Apparently not! Everyone's favorite bookworm wakes up one morning, going through his usual warm-up exercises to keep that mind sharp and filled with all of those words. Making his way over to the library, he discovers that some fairy tale characters have managed to escape from their books and they're running amok in a real world!
It is now up to you to corral these escapees and send them back to where they belong: inside the books where they can be read and enjoyed with no risk of harming the reader! Who knew that the three little pigs could cause so much harm?
Saving the World from the Library
As with the original Bookworm Adventures, you will be presented with a grid of letter tiles. This four-by-four grid (16 letter tiles in all) is used as your arsenal to combat the fairy tale escapees. Looking through the available tiles, you must construct works and form attacks against he likes of the dish and the spoon, a space cow, papa bear, and even the Gingerbread Man.
As before, you click on these tiles in order to form words. The tiles need not be adjacent to one another, but they need to form a legitimate word. The longer the word, the more powerful the attack.
Next to Lex the Bookworm will be a series of heart cells representing his health. A similar life meter can be found next to your current opponent and the goal is to defeat the enemy before your health is depleted. Take your time though, since there is no clock to fight. Work to create the best, longest, and most creative words you can.
The War of Words Using Treasures and Companions
Words hold great value, but even our word-happy worm needs a little help sometimes. There are potions that can help Lex in his journey, including ones to restore some health, increase his attack power, or to remove any current effects on him.
Upon completing each mission, which is comprised of several battles with several opponents, you will be rewarded with either a treasure or a new companion. These further aid in your quest to rid the real world of nursery rhyme characters. For example, one treasure increases attack damage and another helps Lex avoid stun attacks. Equip yourself with care.
To further add to the fascinating battle dynamics of this game, the letter tiles can also be infused with certain powers. By forming a word involving a ruby tile, for instance, the resulting attack is imbued with additional fire damage. Forget about blowing the house down; burn it instead!
The Mouse is Mightier than the Sword
The primary quest has you saving the real world from the nursery rhyme villains, but the first adventure gets you to save Mother Goose from the Big Bad Wolf. He can huff, he can puff, but you can beat him back into the confines of his book using just the right words. The click of your mouse will outdo any attack he can dish out.
